ভারতের ৫ রাজ্যে ভোট বিপর্যয়ের দায় নিয়ে কংগ্রেস থেকে পদত্যাগ করতে পারেন সোনিয়া, রাহুল ও প্রিয়াঙ্কা গান্ধী। রবিবারই বসছে কংগ্রেসের কার্যকরী সমিতির (সিডব্লুসি) বৈঠক। সেখানেই ইস্তফা দিতে পারেন তারা।

দাবি উঠছিল বেশ কিছুদিন ধরেই। তাতেই ঘৃতাহুতি হয়েছে পাঞ্জাব, উত্তরপ্রদেশ, গোয়া, উত্তরাখণ্ড এবং মনিপুরের বিধানসভা ভোটে কংগ্রেসের শোচনীয় হারে। পাঞ্জাবে সরকারে ছিল কংগ্রেস। ভোটের কিছুদিন আগেই মুখ্যমন্ত্রী হিসেবে অমরিন্দর সিংহকে বদলে আনা হয় চরণজিৎ সিংহ চন্নীকে। কিন্তু তাতেও ভোটে সুবিধা হয়নি কংগ্রেসের। উল্টো তুলনায় নবীনতম রাজনৈতিক দল আম আদমি পার্টির কাছে কার্যত উড়ে গেছে তারা।

উত্তরপ্রদেশে শূন্য হাতে ফিরতে হয়েছে প্রিয়াঙ্কা গান্ধীকে। ভোট শতাংশ সর্বকালীন তলানিতে পৌঁছেছে। গোয়াতেও সরকার গড়ার ধারে কাছে পৌঁছতে ব্যর্থ কংগ্রেস। পাঁচ রাজ্যের ভোটের ফল প্রকাশের পরই গান্ধী পরিবারের ইস্তফার দাবিতে সরব হয়েছিলেন কংগ্রেসের নেতারা। চাপ বাড়ছিল শীর্ষ নেতৃত্বের উপর। এই পরিস্থিতিতে শোনা গেল, রবিবার কংগ্রেস কার্যকরী সমিতির বৈঠকে কংগ্রেসের অন্তর্বর্তী সভানেত্রীর পদ থেকে ইস্তফা দিতে পারেন সোনিয়া গান্ধী। পদ ছাড়তে পারেন রাহুল গান্ধী, প্রিয়াঙ্কা গান্ধীও।

২০১৯-য়ে লোকসভায় খারাপ ফলে দায় নিয়ে কংগ্রেস সভাপতির পদ থেকে ইস্তফা দিয়েছিলেন রাহুল, তারপর থেকে অন্তর্বর্তী সভানেত্রীর ভূমিকায় রয়েছেন সোনিয়া। সাধারণ সম্পাদক প্রিয়াঙ্কাকে উত্তরপ্রদেশের দায়িত্ব দেওয়া হয়েছিল। তবে অতীত অভিজ্ঞতার নিরিখে রাজনৈতিক পর্যবেক্ষকদের প্রশ্ন, গান্ধীদের ইস্তফা আদৌ গৃহীত হবে কি? রাজনৈতিক মহলের একটি অংশ বলছে, রবিবারের বৈঠকে হারের নৈতিক দায় নিয়ে তিন জন ইস্তফা দিতে চাইলেও, সিডব্লুসি-র বাকি সদস্যরা তাতে রাজি হবেন তো? এর আগেও একাধিক বার গান্ধীদের ইস্তফা নিয়ে এমন ঘটনা ঘটেছে। ফলে ইস্তফা দেওয়ার ইচ্ছাপ্রকাশ করলেও, আদতে ইস্তফার ঘটনা ঘটবে কি না তা নিয়েই সন্দিহান রাজনৈতিক মহল।
